Michael Bublé and Carly Pearce “take the Christmas throne” with their Grand Ole Opry debut performance of the new song “Maybe This Christmas”. They never fail to deliver flawless harmonies

Michael Bublé and Carly Pearce bring holiday cheer to the Grand Ole Opry with their debut performance of “Maybe This Christmas”

Michael Bublé has staked his claim as the undisputed king of Christmas. The Canadian jazz-pop crooner dropped his first full-length record of holiday tunes in 2011. Aptly titled Christmas, it became one of the best-selling albums of the 21st century. (Regular albums, not just holiday-themed ones.) Admittedly, Bublé prefers to occupy the Christmas throne solo, typically shying away from collaborating with other artists. Fortunately, he was willing to break that rule for country singer Carly Pearce, who recently joined him on “Maybe This Christmas.” And the “Every Little Thing” hitmaker was again by Bublé’s side on Sunday (Dec. 15) for his Grand Ole Opry debut, where the pair again performed their latest hit.

Michael Bublé Makes Grand Ole Opry Debut

Last week, Carly Pearce stopped by The Voice finale to perform “Maybe This Christmas” with Michael Bublé. On Friday (Dec. 15), the pair reprised that performance during the “Opry Country Christmas” show—which marked the “Feeling Good” singer’s first time on that hallowed stage.

The duo was part of a lineup that included CMA’s 2024 New Artist of the Year, Megan Moroney. Southern gospel outfit The Isaacs also performed, along with The Ornaments.

Pearce and Bublé announced the performance last Tuesday (Dec. 10) in a joint social media post. “Oh my God, I’m so nervous,” admitted Bublé, 49.

He continued, “I cannot wait. Listen, for me, this is like a dream come true. And to do it with you? Man, it could not be more special.”

“Fate Had a Hand” in Making of “Maybe This Christmas”

After previously teasing “a Christmas song for people that might not love Christmas,” Michael Bublé and Carly Pearce took to social media in November to announce “Maybe This Christmas.”

“This collab fell into place so seamlessly it feels like fate had a hand in it,” the five-time Grammy Award winner wrote. “We’re so proud of this song! We hope you love it as much as we do.”

Judging from the comments, it doesn’t look like they have to worry about that. “since i was a little girl michaels vocals and music have been such a safe place for me, i have admired this man for so long,” one Instagram user wrote. “him and carly sound incredible together.”
