This secret in Reba McEntire’s Christmas dish would have made Elvis Presley swoon

It’s the holiday season, and those of us who love to cook, bake, and entertain are always on the hunt for a new recipe. Whether it’s something we’ve never tried before or a new take on a classic, the holidays are the perfect time of year to get creative in the kitchen. We don’t know about you, but we think it’s fun when our favorite stars share their best recipes. Even though we’ll likely never meet them, it’s neat to know we can serve our families the same thing they serve theirs. Reba McEntire shared her Southern classic banana pudding recipe with an ingredient that would have made Elvis Presley swoon. If you know, you know friends. And, yes, it’s just as decadent a decision as you think.

Reba McEntire Puts Peanut Butter In Her Banana Pudding

According to Southern Living, Reba shared in her 2023 cookbook Not That Fancy: Simple Lessons on Living, Loving, Eating, and Dusting Off Your Boots, that her daddy loved banana pudding, and her mom made it to put out for Santa Claus every year on Christmas eve. After Reba McEntire lost her mom, she knew she had to continue the banana pudding tradition. But their family adds a little something extra. She told Southern Living, “I like to put peanut butter on vanilla wafers.”

That’s right, her family’s recipe takes this dessert to a delicious new level.

“On the bottom of the bowl, you have your vanilla wafers, and you put peanut butter on it, you lay it down, and then you put your pudding, and then you put your bananas. And then you put another layer,” Reba explained.

It may be a bit rich for some people. But we’re definitely trying this one this Christmas.
