The Grammy-nominated artist recently starred in a hilarious new commercial for Zevia, the popular zero-calorie soda brand—featuring him in an outfit no one saw coming: Daisy Dukes. As for whether he’ll actually wear the shorts on stage? When asked in a recent interview, he laughed and said: “Y’all better show up in your own Daisy Dukes first!” Challenge accepted.
Over the last few years, Jelly Roll took over country music by winning several CMT Music Awards thanks to hits like “Need a Favor.” He also hit the road to support his newest album, Beautifully Broken, which hit shelves in October 2024. And besides performing all over the country, the singer also appeared in a Super Bowl ad for Uber Eats. Always willing to poke fun at himself, the country singer appeared in a new commercial for Zevia that had Jelly Roll showcasing his figure in daisy dukes.
While a top name in country music, Jelly Roll isn’t about to get too serious with his stardom. And wanting to have a little fun, a new Zevia commercial showed the singer stepping out of a red pickup truck at a rustic gas station. With two boys standing nearby, they are shocked to see Jelly Roll wearing daisy dukes and cut-off flannel.
With Linda Lyndell’s “Whatta Man” playing, the boy stated, “Jelly Roll in a Zevia commercial? This is huge. By choosing him as a spokesperson for their zero-sugar soda with zero artificial ingredients Zevia is dismantling the notion that ‘real men’ cannot be conscious of what goes into their bodies. Mr. Roll, now, quite literally is the poster child for sweet authenticity.”
Somewhat confused by the statement his friend just offered, the other boy simply said, “What?”
Jelly Roll Revealed What Helped Him Lose Weight
While the commercial focused on Zevia’s creamy root beer, Jelly Roll hoped his approach to fitness would help others battling obesity. “I think being honest about that choice and the ongoing commitment (and slip-ups) has helped people feel like they aren’t alone if they are going through something similar and that’s why I wanted to be honest with my health journey.”
Wanting to be around for his family, Jelly Roll focused on what he was putting in his body. “Finding options that help me keep that going was important to me, and making sure you evaluate what is in the stuff you’re consuming has been a game changer for me.”
Continuing to pave his way in country music and shed pounds, Jelly Roll found support with Zevia, which offered zero-sugar soda with natural sweeteners. And with flavors like Cherry Cola, and Lemon Lime Twist, the drink appeared both healthy and refreshing.
