Sofronio Vasquez reveals plans for an emotional visit to the Philippines to honor his historic The Voice USA win

“The Voice USA” Season 26 grand champion Sofronio Vasquez is set to come to the Philippines for a short visit to celebrate his victory with his fellow Filipinos.

In an interview on the “Meet The Press” podcast, Sofronio revealed that he will return to the country in January.

“I got a slight confirmation that I will come home on Jan. 5,” said Sofronio.

He then expressed his hopes of meeting everyone who had helped him throughout his “The Voice USA” journey.

“Gusto ko lang personally magpasalamat because, in one way or another, lahat ng interviews na nagawa ko for the past two months leading to the finale talagang nag-reach out sa lahat ng Filipino,” he continued.

Sofronio later shared that he also looks forward to meeting President Bongbong Marcos if given the chance.

“Hopefully, matuloy because I got the communication na sana. I would just be grateful kung matuloy kasi paano mo ba i-cu-culminate yung panalo mo? Eh ‘di ba ‘yung ma-meet ‘yung president kasi ‘yung napakalaking honor nu’n na i-recognize ka ng presidente,” the singer added.

Sofronio made history as the first Asian and first Filipino to win “The Voice USA” last Dec. 11.
